Rung Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Dan Yates (“we”, “us”) covering the Rung app. By downloading or using Rung you agree to them.

The licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Rung on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. This licence is for your own use; you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse-engineer the app except where the law expressly allows it.

Rung Premium

Rung Premium is a one-time, non-refundable purchase made through Apple’s In-App Purchase system — not a subscription; nothing renews. It unlocks premium features (unlimited routines, custom rep ranges, analytics depth, and reports) on the Apple ID that bought it, and can be restored on a new device with Restore Purchases. Payment and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms; refund requests go through Apple, and we also surface a refund-request path inside the app.

Your data is yours — and it’s on your device

Rung stores your training data locally on your phone (see the Privacy Policy). Because there are no accounts and no cloud copy of ours, you are responsible for backups: use the app’s free export feature or your device’s own backup. If the app is deleted without a backup, we have no way to recover your data.

Not medical advice

Rung records what you lift and suggests what to try next based on simple, stated rules over your own numbers. It is a training log, not medical or professional advice. Strength training carries risk of injury; you are responsible for training within your abilities and, where appropriate, consulting a qualified professional before starting or changing an exercise programme.

No warranty

Rung is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent the law allows. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Rung, including loss of data or injury sustained while training. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Changes

We may update these terms; the current version will always be posted at this address with its effective date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, without affecting any consumer rights you hold under the law of the country you live in.
